The minimum number in a dragon boat is 6 paddlers and one drummer. We can run dragon boat regattas for 600+ people.

We running many dragon boat regattas on the River Thames, but there are many other bodies of water that can be used - lakes, reservoirs, canals.

Dragon boating is not only an exhilarating and enjoyable sport but also an excellent exercise in team building. It is essential for dragon boat teams to work together; making use of each member’s individual strengths in order to ensure that their team delivers the best possible performance.
Teams will paddle what looks like an oversized canoe with an ornately carved dragons head at the front and a tail at the rear. A drum positioned at the front with a drummer furiously banging the drum to keep the rest of the crew in time. A helms person (provided by TAG) steers the boat from the rear and helps to co-ordinate the team’s efforts so that they are all paddling at the same speed.
Our small 30ft dragon boats accommodate teams of up to 10 paddlers with a drummer, plus a helms person provided by TAG (we also own 40ft dragon boats which accommodate teams of up to 16 paddlers with a drummer, plus a helms person provided by TAG). For groups of 7-66, you can all be on the water at the same time for a paddle taking in the local sites from the river with races between the teams included within the activity.
If you’re catering for larger numbers, we can arrange a dragon boat regatta for up to 600 people in one day. With drums and colourful boats this is an impressive and exciting activity both to watch and participate in. There’s a minimum age of eight years old and we’ve yet to find out the maximum age!
