Our Venue of the Month: The Oakley Court Hotel

Here at Team Activity Group, we work with a number of luxury and unique venues, and Oakley Court is our featured venue this month.

Looking to host a lavish event? Maybe you’re in need of a luxury corporate dinner or you’re starting to look at venues for your Christmas party? Oakley Court might be the place for you.

What is Oakley Court?

Oakley Court is a luxury hotel steeped in history. Built in the Victorian era, the building is an impressive example of gothic architecture - gargoyles and parapets abound! In fact, its formidable facade even featured in The Rocky Horror Show. But don’t let this deter you: recently and beautifully refurbished and softened by its idyllic riverside location, Oakley Court is a venue that wows guests.

 Where is this magical place?

The hotel is situated right on the banks of the River Thames - between Royal Windsor, Bray and Eton. Just under an hour from London, it's ideal for corporate events especially if you’re looking to get out of town.

Why is Oakley Court a great event venue?

Aside from the majesty of the place, the hotel has a number of features which make it an excellent event venue.

●      Exclusive use

You can opt to have the entire place for just you and your group. Whether you’re planning a garden party, corporate dinner or team-building activity, you can have the run of the place. This includes all the rooms (including bedrooms), the gardens and grounds, and the use of bicycles and self-drive boats.

●      It has a number of impressive rooms in which to host events

If you don’t need exclusive use, Oakley Court has an array of sumptuous occasion rooms. They can be hired individually or mixed and matched together, depending on your party size. Each room offers something unique with differing styles and ambience.

In the main gothic mansion, some rooms feature grand fireplaces and views out over the Thames - perfect for a cosy Christmas gathering.

Others, like the Green Room and conservatory are flooded with natural light, and the large, grand drawing room lends itself to decadent special occasions.

●      Its riverside location

The hotel’s proximity to water makes it a popular event venue. It makes the best of this location with its idyllic River House.

The River House is a gorgeous outdoor dining area under canvas, decorated with pretty greenery. Come rain or shine, guests can unwind beside the rushing river, cocktail in hand.

The hotel also provides boat trips from the venue, should this be something you’d like to incorporate into your event, or even one of our dragon boat river trips.

●      The gardens and grounds

Set in 35 acres of grounds, the Oakley Court boasts impressive surroundings. Not only does this mean a large and beautiful space for outdoor activities (such as our country pursuits), but it’s a great location for meetings and conferences.

Running a conference in a stunning, natural environment is more likely to boost attendees’ sense of wellbeing, inspire creative thinking and make for an overall positive event.
